This video shows the minievb ssop-20 with I2C OLED using the u8g2 libary. The arduino example code provided by u8ge library is compiled and uploaded without any changes. The I2C OLED runs smoothly without any problem. The USB connection is then removed and the minievb-ssop-20 board and I2C OLED is powered with a single 18650 battery ( balance voltage is only around 2.7 volt ), yet the OLED I2C is still functioning smoothly with the minievb-ssop20 board.

Kearns Electronics - DAC Test - LGT8F328P (ATMega328P copy) Pro Mini type board. . . . This is a short demo of the LGT8F328P MCU's on board DAC. The code was written in Atmel assembly language and compiled with Atmel's AVRASM2. The LGT8F328P board was programmed using AVRdudess ( Windows GUI container for AVRdude version of your choice). The audio was just a snippet from Youtube, edited in the old Cool Edit Pro v2.1 audio editing Windows app. The raw audio data was then converted to a standard Atmel 'Define Byte' .DB 0xnn, 0xnn, etc' type text file using BP Soft's Hex Workshop V6.8. The resultant text file was then compiled along with the application code, which produced a hex file with enough data to write the whole 32,768 memory locations on the MCU. All real estate used ! 146 bytes used to code this with 32566 bytes of audio data 16Khz sample rate 8bit data width. - Segment Begin End Code Data Used Size Use% - [.cseg] 0x000000 0x008000 146 32566 32712 32768 99.8% The 56 bytes unaccounted for, are the unused bytes between the flash Reset vector and the first used interrupt vector. I could have used all of this for code, but didn't bother with this small test. NB: This test has a fairly slow sample rate of 16 Khz, but the MCU is quite capable of handling a 42.1 Khz or an even higher sample rate. 16 Khz was chosen in this example, in order to provide just over 2 seconds of audio using 32566 bytes of audio data. There's no 'free lunch' when it comes to writing code in assembly language for any MCU and this one is no exception. What you do get in return though, is absolute control ! There is no compiler re-writing your code or even throwing your code in the rubbish, as you can get with a C compiler. The other things you get in return are: (1) You learn something about programming. (2) You learn something about the hardware. Now, you need to sort out a few things first, like setting up the MCU's clock frequency and clock source. Also need to set the clock prescaler which has a divide by 8 default setting on every power up or reset. The DAC's Vref also needs to be set up too. None of these settings are set with fuse bits, as are some on the ATMega328P, so they need to be re written on every reset. To take care of the above, it required the original Chinese data sheet which included diagrams. I don't understand Mandarin, so a Chinglish translated version which came with very few diagrams was needed as well. Between the two, I was able to figure it out. The main DAC code simply waits around for a 16 Khz timer interrupt to occur and when it does, the code then writes the next data byte from program memory to the DAC's data register. It then checks for 'end of data' and if not yet reached, waits for the next timer interrupt and repeats. When 'end of data' is finally reached, interrupts are disabled and the code just quits with a "Fin: rjmp Fin" loop instruction. This micro is super fast, compared to regular AVR devices, with a built in 32 Mhz RC oscillator or you can use an external crystal if you prefer. Many 2 cycle Atmel instructions are only single cycle on this baby, which can effectively double the speed a second time, compared to its ATMega328P 16Mhz max speed cousin. The board is available for US$0.89c each from here: 🤍 A JTAG/SWD type programmer for the above costs US$3.98 from here: 🤍 It took a bit to get the above programmer working properly, but it was my fault. The baud rate in AVRdudess must me set to 19200 and not left blank, like I did initially. All good now. Interestingly, it has an Atmel ATMEGA168P MCU on board without lock bits programmed, so its program code can be quite easily copied if you wanted. It has standard 6 pin ISP PCB pads on board for this. You can, as an alternative, turn another LGT8F328P or an Atmel ATMega328P board into a programmer with the LarduinoISP code available on the web.
